Side holes and skives open a path between a lumen and the outside of the catheter — for aspiration, infusion, irrigation or pressure sensing. The holes have to be clean: a burr or a partially cut flap changes flow, can shed particulate, and is a defect a reviewer will look for.
Features we produce
- Side holes to drawing, in a defined pattern along the shaft
- Skives that open one lumen of a multi-lumen shaft
- Inlet and outlet ports for irrigation and aspiration paths
Process notes
- Hole diameter, spacing, axial position and radial orientation all controlled
- Burr-free edges; no flaps left attached in the lumen
- Lumen supported during punching so the tube does not deform around the hole
Typically combined with
Multi-lumen extrusion where one lumen carries irrigation and another returns — the same construction used in the PVC inlet/outlet line assemblies for ablation.
